Self improvement overload
Jan 28th, 2006 by Jordan
I have to admit, I do this to myself. I have over a hundred feeds in my NewsGator, so I am a news junkie, and I read a lot of stuff.
But today, it occured to me that I tend to gloss-over the “set goals”/self-improvement/here’s-proof-of-why-you-should-do-this-lifehacking-thing articles because they tend to get me all nervous and stressed inside. I ask myself repeatedly: why haven’t I set my goals like a good achiever? Why haven’t I stopped eating out to save $60 a week? Why am I not working to buy a house?
I’m tired of being prodded in a more efficient direction. Why can’t I just bank on the fact that I’ll be able to find a job that pays me enough to live comfortably on, considering I’m only 24 now and I have a college degree?
